Tag Tuesday: I’m The Map, I’m The Map, I’m The Map!

Hi friends! Today I’m back with another super fun Tag Tuesday, hosted by one of my favorite bloggers Shanah @ Bionic Books!

To answer that question floating around your brain: yes that title is a Dora reference and no I haven’t lost my sanity*. BUT today’s post is all about my Top 5 bookish maps! I’ve literally forgotten every map I’ve ever seen so don’t hold me to my choices haha. And sorry about the horrible quality pictures, I have no excuse. So let’s do this thing.

*how can you lose something you never had

Pretty Much All Ravenspire Maps

Because PRETTY. I mean, the colors are different for each book and the detail is magnificent! How could you not want to stare for hours.

Ember Endpapers

They’re not particularly colorful but there’s something so simplistic and interesting about the Ember maps! I mean, sure I’m tempted to burn away certain parts ( *cough*wherever the Commandment is) but it’s still so amazing.

Shadowhunters

The new paperbacks. I love the format, and how simplistic the black and white drawings are! Also there’s mini maps of the cities for those of us who know nothing of NYC, London, or Los Angeles (me) so that’s a big incentive!

Six of Crows

LOOKIE. Another example of black and white but man, are these beautiful. And maybe I’m slightly prejudiced because my Crow Children and Nikolai but THE POINT IS THE MAPS AND NOT KAZ.

The Seven Realms

Somehow I’m just a sucker for magical, fantasy places? This map has a lot of that. AND it reminds me of Graceling (which I intensely disliked) but on a better scale. WITH BETTER MEMORIES.

  1. Wow, all of these are great but I was especially blown away by the first one from Ravenspire. I don’t think I’ve ever even heard of those books before, but consider me intrigued now…I’m a sucker for a good map!

  2. I read the first book in the Ravenspire series a few years ago and I completely forgot that it had such a beautiful map! I’m kind of sad that my edition doesn’t have a red map because the red one is so pretty!

  3. Gaaaah the pink of the Ravenspire map is killing me. I’m not really into pink as a color, but that map…and the inky details…oof, it’s just gorgeous. I mean, I’d even consider ripping it out of a book and hanging it on my wall! (Though ahem, I won’t. 😛 ) Amazing picks! ❤
