the ones we’re meant to find mini-review! // it’s not you, it’s me

I had really high expectations for this book and well, this is going to be a bit of an awkward review. But hey, things could be worse! One of the most twisty, surprising, engaging page-turner YAs you’ll read this year—We Were Liars meets Black Mirror, with a dash of Studio Ghibli. Cee has been trapped on an abandoned island for three years without any recollection of how she arrived, or memories from her life prior. All she knows is that somewhere out there, beyond the horizon, she has a sister named Kay, and it’s up to Cee to cross the ocean and … Continue reading the ones we’re meant to find mini-review! // it’s not you, it’s me

bank it or bin it #2

We’re back, and it’s time to stare in terror at my Goodreads Want To Read shelf yet again! The incredible @vee_bookish created this fun idea! The Shadowhunters Codex | Don’t get me wrong, I love Shadowhunters stuff. But I don’t have the time to read about the history, and the laws, and blah blah important worldbuilding stuff that’s also slightly irrelevant. So this is a bin for me! Stars Above | Technically, I’ve read three of the short stories in this already. Actually, I’ve read the last story two or three times alone. But I want to do a full … Continue reading bank it or bin it #2

This collection of short stories follows Jem Carstairs and others throughout the years, and throughout the Shadow Markets. Cast Long Shadows | Goodness. I’m both excited and terrified to read The Last Hours … Continue reading ghosts of the shadow market review // please stand by as i try to remember these short stories

Quick synopsis: Iris Hollow has always been weird. In fact, the unexplained, unshakable weirdness that follows both her and her two older sisters all started when something happened to them when they were younger, something that left identical scars on each girl. It’s not until her oldest sister Grey goes missing that Iris takes it upon herself to figure out what exactly happened when they were children. #1: … Continue reading 5 Reasons To Read House of Hollow! // be convinced because it’s spooky season and this book is perfection

let’s just take a moment to appreciate some of the gorgeous covers debuting in 2022

Read the title and you will understand this post. I just thought it’d be fun to post about some beautiful, jaw-dropping covers coming out in 2022 and then become mesmerized by the screen for 5+ hours. Of course, that means I’l have to share the pain joy. Like, we’re in October of 2021. There’s countless covers that haven’t be revealed yet and already my eyes are writhing from the sheer beauty. But what kind of magic are these designers using? Also, can we appreciate how many Asian authors are winning the cover game because wow. That’s all I wanted to … Continue reading let’s just take a moment to appreciate some of the gorgeous covers debuting in 2022
