How is it October??? I’M SO EXCITED don’t get me wrong but HOW??? Anyways, it’s October 3rd as I’m writing this so I gotta drop this here:

Seoulmates by Susan Lee | This book is about two ex-best-friends who come back together for a summer. One of them is a K-drama star. And what do you guess happens? That’s right folks, it’s a friends-to-lovers story! I wish I enjoyed this more but I just felt uninvested in this story. I gave it 3/5 stars.

The Getaway by Lamar Giles | This book is astounding. It’s horrifying, but not in a necessarily scary way. It follows a crew of Black kids who all live in Karloff Country, the only place on earth fully free of the dystopian chaos of the world. Unfortunately, mysterious thing start to happen, as people start to show their true nature. I truly enjoyed this so much, and I can’t believe how well-crafted of a story this is! 4.75/5 stars.

Night of the Raven, Dawn of the Dove by Rati Mehrotra | THIS BOOK IS ALSO AMAZING. It follows a royal bodyguard named Katyani who is tasked with protecting her adopted brothers as they travel to a school where they will learn to be fine spiritual warriors. This story is full of monsters and excitement and genuinely just renewed my love of YA fantasy. 4.75/5 stars.
