Hi friends! It’s been a while since I’ve done a Top 5 Tuesday, but I finally found the time to sit down and write a post for it! Today’s topic is all about the books I’m most excited to release this next quarter! I already did my most anticipated July releases post so this will mainly be focused on August and September releases. Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads.
Belladonna by Adalyn Grace is a book that I’m grateful to have an e-ARC of because it sounds amazing. Apparently this follows a girl who makes a deal with Death himself to discover who murdered her mother, and it’s considered a romantic, gothic fantasy. This comes out on August 30th and I cannot wait!
All of my blogger friends who have gotten ARCS of Babel by R.F. Kuang have said that it’s one of the best books of the year. I’m gonna be honest: I’m convinced based on their praise alone. All I know is that this is magical dark academia and it discusses colonization and “the use of translation as a tool of empire”. I think this has a chance of becoming one of my favorites of the year. It comes out on August 23rd!
My favorite book of 2021 was Once Upon A Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber, so of course I’m highly anticipating the sequel! The Ballad of Never After by Stephanie Garber has the potential to make this blog forever Jacks-focused so…beware of September 13th is all I’m saying.
Sure, I haven’t read Our Violet Ends yet, but Foul Lady Fortune just sounds amazing anyways. And I don’t really know much about it so maybe I’m just sold on whatever Chloe Gong writes. I am completely and utterly obsessed with her unique historical fantastical retellings.
I’ve been a fan of Adrienne Young since her YA debut, so I’m incredibly excited for her adult debut. Spells for Forgetting has been praised as Young’s best book by many trusted reviewers of mine, plus it’s pitched as a small town atmospheric mystery!
So that’s it! Tell me your most anticipated release for the next couple of months!
