Uh…I’m kind of scared to sort my Want To Read shelf by “date added” in reverse. Will I even recognize the books that I see…? Top 5 Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads!
Since I did talk about my oldest additions to my Goodreads TBR in my last bank it or bin it post, I’ll be highlighting other ones!

I love Cinda WIlliams Chima’s Seven Realms series. It is, in my humble opinion, one of the greatest and most underrated YA series in the entire genre. It does some of my favorite tropes incredibly well. So of course one of the oldest additions to my TBR is the first book in her spinoff series! That I…added in 2017 and still haven’t read*.
*i think i’m still stuck in 2020 because i thought 2017 was three years ago??? but it’s actually five??? this seems fake.

I’ve gotten to the point in my life where I’ve realized that I would rather reread Strange The Dreamer than just straight-up read Muse of Nightmares…but that requires rereading. What if I don’t like it as much when I reread it? What if I only hyped it up in my memory? All of these questions have prevented me from finishing this duology and I’m sad.

I have heard such interesting things about this book. I mean, an assassin sent to kill a girl and a prince she’s destined to marry but you’re not sure which chapter is written from which perspective? I LOVE being mind-blown and this sounds like a fantasy that will do just that.

Before I read The Folk of the Air trilogy and had a kernel of understanding of just how good Holly Black is writing, I added White Cat to my tbr. It’s a historical fantasy which I’m coming to realize might just be my kryptonite? So we’ll see!

Zero excuses. I have none, nada, zilch. Every time I consider finally finishing out this series that I love so dearly, I decide I need to read the previous four(!) books. And you know what? I really need to get rid of NetGalley so I can do just that.
So that’s it! What’s one of the oldest books on your tbr?

It’s always so easy to add new books to the goodreads list but so hard to actually finish the ones already on there. 😂

I was today years old when I found out Holly Black wrote White Cat and now the only thing to do is to read it. Also 2017 was 5 years ago? *cries* Hope you get around to all these and you enjoy them 💙

So many people have been surprised at the mention of it, I feel like it must be one of her most underrated series! And IKR. Thank you💜

Wow, I would never have considered White Cat as a historical fantasy… is that what it’s listed as on goodreads?! You’ll get to see it on my list next week for “series I haven’t finished” 😓
Hope you enjoy these when you get to them!! And I hope you had fun this week!! 💕

I still have Muse of Nightmares on my TBR list also. I thought I’ve read all of Holly Black’s book but I missed The Curseworkers somehow!

Ahhh, I’m glad I’m not the only one who hasn’t read it LOL. IKR, I feel like The Curseworkers is one of her least talked about series?

AHHH I NEED TO READ KISS OF DECEPTION SO BAD!!! Like I was already in at the mention of assassin BUT THEN ALSO NOT KNOWING WHOSE PERSPECTIVE EACH CHAPTER IS WRITTEN FROM??? THE EXCITEMENT!!! Also Muse of Nightmares too – EVERYONE SAYS ITS BETTER THAN STRANGE THE DREAMER but I need to reread strange the dreamer first too and SAMMEEE I’M SCARED. Hope you love all of these when you get to them AND CANNOT WAIT TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS!

YESSSSS!!! The concept is just so intriguing??? Like, how will I know if I should be rooting for the prince or the assassin if I don’t know who’s who? And YES SAME! Rereading books is so terrifying because I’m like “will I love it as much as the first time” haha. Thank you so so much!! I hope you love Muse whenever you read it (it’ll probably be sooner than me LOL)💜
