Keeping track and predicting my book hauls should be an Olympic sport. Seriously, there’s no rhyme or reason to it and I always have to check the last one I did to check which books I mentioned. So um, let’s just get on with it shall we?
This is already so impossibly chaotic guys we’re off to a great start. Anyways, I got a book from the Summer Reading program at the library but I unfortunately can’t remember the name well enough for the Goodreads search engine. I remember the cover, but uh…not the name. And it’s packed up into a moving box at the time of writing. Let’s take a moment of silence for The Book That Shall Not Be Named.
I’m very grateful to have received a physical arc of Once Upon A Broken Heart for my stop on the blog tour! In addition, because I have no willpower, I also ordered the Owlcrate edition which is absolutely lovely.
A Far Wilder Magic by Allison Saft | I just finished this one and absolutely adored it. It’s a combination of beautiful autumn atmosphere, a magical fox-hunt, alchemy, and a seaside village. I CAN’T WAIT TO TALK ABOUT IT!
Anatomy: A Love Story by Dana Schwartz | The summary for this book contains the word gothic. What else do you need to know? Just in case you want a bit more information (but why would you) this follows a female surgeon, a resurrection man, and romance. Yes, it follows romance. Don’t question my summaries.
These Deadly Games by Diana Urban | As someone who didn’t quite love but was surprisingly obsessed with the author’s debut, of course I wanted to check out her next book! From what I can tell, the main character’s sister gets kidnapped and in order to save her, the main character has to do a bunch of tasks. Only problem? Those tasks aren’t as harmless as they seem.
League of Liars by Astrid Scholte | This is a fantasy thriller following four teens jailed for illegal use of magic. So of course, what is left to do but break out of said jail? I was so intrigued by Scholte’s debut Four Dead Queens but never got around to actually reading it. So I have no idea what to expect going into this but I’m excited!
Hotel Magnifique by Emily J. Taylor | I’m kinda trash for certain tropes. And I know that because all I read about this book was that it was “Caraval meets The Night Circus” in a hotel with dark secrets and I instantly requested it. I don’t know what to expect but I’m SO EXCITED ANYWAYS!
Cinder and Glass by Melissa De La Cruz | I’m in the mood for a Cinderella retelling, and this one sounds amazing. This apparently involves the prince’s younger brother in addition to the prince. Look, I like to go into these retellings as blind as possible but now I see that this hurting my summary skills*.
*not that there were ever much of those in the first place
And a huge thank you to all the publishers for giving me an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!
So that’s it! Somehow I ended up with six NetGalley titles? Please send help? I’m hoping I give 5 stars to all of them though! Tell me: are you excited for any of these? Have you read them?
