Hi friends! My June wrap-up is so late but then again, when am I ever on-time with this?
We Hunt The Flame by Hafsah Faizal | This was a solid fantasy debut, with great banter and a lovely slowburn fantasy. My biggest issue is how slow it was. That made the book feel relatively jarring. But the ending especially hit SO hard, I gave this a 4/5 stars!
Yona of the Dawn Vol. 12 by Mizuho Kusanagi | Yes, another volume! This one made me feel all the emotions. An easy 5/5 stars!
We Free The Stars by Hafsah Faizal | I went running straight to the sequel after finishing We Hunt The Flame. While I enjoyed it, I do think it suffered from the same flaws as its predecessor. That being said…Hafsah Faizal wrote that last 30 pages so perfectly my soul is not yet recovered. 4/5 stars!
My June playlist truly does reflect the fact that both Doja Cat and Phil Wickham released albums the last week of June. Oops.
I totally didn’t do as much blog-hopping as I wanted to do, and I also didn’t keep track of all my favorite posts as much as I wanted. I adored so many posts that aren’t featured here, but this is a small snippet of what I loved!
One of my favorite reviews I’ve read this month is this review of gearbreakers by the lovely ahaana @ windows to worlds!
Aria @ Book Nook Bits shares nine incredible books by Asian authors!
Marie discusses her 16 most anticipated books for the rest of 2021.
Amanda @ Bookish Brews recommends some diverse climate fiction books!
So that’s it! I might write a film review for A Quiet Place 2, and I did watch several great movies but I uh didn’t keep track of my thoughts. I know, I’m chaotic in the worst way possible. I do hope you enjoyed this post though!
