Most Anticipated June Book Releases!

There are so many books releasing this month. Luckily, a lot of them are contemporaries I only have minor interest in! But please do go check them out because while I may not necessarily be anticipating contemporary books for the most part, that doesn’t mean those books aren’t fantastic. So let’s talk about anticipated releases!

June 1st

Instructions For Dancing by Nicola Yoon | The TL;DR of this is a ballroom dancing competition, a girl who doesn’t believe in love, and a boy who says yes to everything. This sounds cute, unique, and honestly I loved The Sun Is Also A Star so much that I can’t wait to read this one!

Blood Like Magic by Liselle Sambury | WITCHES. AND THIS WITCH HAS TO KILL HER FIRST LOVE. Basically, in order to save her entire bloodline of hex-casting queens, Voya has to fall in love with the very obnoxious Luc and kill him. I haven’t seen much about this one but it sounds good.

June 8th

Of Princes and Promises by Sandhya Menon | A Frog Prince retelling set at a boarding school by a POC author? Heck yeah, I’m excited for this! A girl basically tries to get her ex back by dating this sweet, clueless guy who might be in love with her and there’s this magical hair gel that turns him into quite the dashing young man.

June 15th

You’re So Dead by Ash Parsons | I liked this thriller, following a group of friends who are (sort of) invited to an island for an influencer festival and then someone dies! Sounds like a greats summer vacation, right?

For The Wolf by Hannah Whitten | A girl named Red has to be sacrificed to the Wolf but he’s actually a man and Red has magic. This is apparently a mix of Red Riding Hood and Beauty and the Beast.

Sisters Of The Snake by Sarena and Sasha Nanua | This is a Princess and the Pauper retelling with magic and kingdoms and darkness. Okay, I like retellings. Sue me*.

*pls don’t i’m actually broke

June 22nd

My Contrary Mary by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows | Has there ever been a more successful joint trio of authors? I don’t know but I’m excited for their take on Mary, Queen of Scots, who turns into a mouse and can only entrust her betrothed with this information!

So that’s it! Share your most anticipated release of the month!
