sunshine blogger award!

Hi friends! I’m so thankful and grateful to have been tagged by One Book More for the Sunshine Blogger Award! I With that being said, let’s talk about the questions.

WHAT IS THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD?

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are creative, positive and inspiring while spreading sunshine to the blogging community.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

Questions:

What’s your most anticipated read for the rest of 2021?

Avatar The Last Airbender + East Asian mythology. I don’t even like Zutara* but the whole “peasant girl teaming ujp with exiled prince” is unfairly enticing. This releases October 12 and I can’t wait!

*mostly on account of my passionate dislike for katara. i love zuko though. stan zuko, reject katara is my motto.

What was your favorite book when you were a kid?

Eight-year old me would have given it all up for Percy and his lovable gang. I still would, tbh. This series has it all: humor, mythology, romance, Tyson…you’ll never miss a necessary element of life while reading it.

If you could turn any book or series into a movie/film, which would you choose?

This might seem like a strange choice but not only do I love this series, I think it could work as the perfect TV series. You could do “ghost of the week” type episodes, with the overarching plot making its way into episodes here and there and specifically the season finale would be INSANE with the cliffhangers at the end of the books.

Have you ever written or considered writing a book?

I’ve considered it! However, I don’t think I’d be a good author, simply because I am not a planner. One of my friends loves creating in depth characters, outlines for plots and future books, and complex webs of culture. I, on the other hand, write an increasingly convoluted story of pure nonsense depending on my mood. Yeah, it’s not ideal.

What would be the title of the book based on your life?

UH. Maybe “Bad Idea”. You know, like the Ariana Grande song. Except it’s my life.

If they make a movie based on your life, who would you cast as actor/actress for your role?

Zendaya is a legend and if she played me…I’d forever be known as the knockoff Zendaya. And I’m okay with that.

What is your favorite read of 2021?

So far, Legendborn has been my favorite read so far of 2021! It’s all that Shadowhunter magic with King Arthur and cool magic and Selwyn Kane and POC main character. I love it.

8. What are you currently reading?

I’m not very far in (only 100 pages) but I’m enjoying this one so far! With all the horrific hate being directed at this author, I really wanted to support her so I moved this up my TBR list.

9. Is there a book you keep saying “One day I will read it” but you never do?

No words. Just…no words.

Can you name an underrated book you read and loved?

This is one of my favorites I’ve read so far this year, and it’s so underrated! I love everything about it: the atmosphere, the siblings, the creepy yet beautiful prose…10/10 would recommend if you like horror.

What’s one book you wish you could reread for the first time?

Sure, this is a cliche answer. But magic is magic, isn’t it? And Harry Potter truly does hold it inside of the books.
