tiny book haul take 2: spring edition!

Hi friends! I’m back with another tiny book haul! Or…at least I thought it was tiny. Turns out my last book haul was in February, so I didn’t include a single NetGalley book. Luckily, I’ve given myself the power to make the executive decision to only include the two I haven’t read yet. You know, I wanted to do great things in life but the only thing I might end up being known for is my own chaotic unpredictability! Yay! With that being said, let’s jump right into it!

I now own the entire Twilight series (all bought used/secondhand) so I can finally commence a reread of the first two and a first read of the last two. I am so ready for Meyer’s infamous extraordinary writing. Hahaha, I laugh.

Yeah, so, maybe it was a bad idea to look around at a used bookstore after last week’s Top 10 Tuesday. Call me weak but…yeah no I’m definitely weak.

Yes, I actually bought a classic! It’s not this pretty of an edition but it is a 50 cent paperback. I can invest in a more appealing edition later on. Also, this gives me Jane Eyre vibes and I am so excited!

netgalley

They’ll Never Catch Us by Jessica Goodman | I might not have adored They Wish They Were Us but there was a lot of potential in it. I’m really excited to see what the author does with her sophomore novel! This seems to be relatively character-focused, since it follows two sisters making friends with the new girl…and then the new girl disappears. This sounds like it’ll be a great mystery-thriller!

Curses by Lish McBride | Yes, another Beauty and the Beast retelling. But it’s gender-freaking-bent. Also the guy who’s “Beauty”? Yeah, he’s a con-artist who just so happens to be using his skills to help the “Beast” find her match. This sounds like it’ll be the perfect mix of fairy-tale magic and unique storytelling! Plus, Marissa Meyer blurbed it, and we all know how I feel about that.

So that’s it! Share with me your thoughts on any of these books, or a book you recently hauled!

  1. To be honest, I clicked when I saw Twilight and book haul. Twilight is really a very controversial YA novel (bland characters, Mary Sues; the usual) but I can’t wait to see if you like the last two 😉

I’ve wanted to read The Selection series for a while now, and I’ll be sure to add the others soon! Great post!

  2. Wow these look good.I haven’t read the Night Circus or the One – tbh I skim-read the One and I can’t remember anything about it. I can’t wait to hear what you’ve got to say about twilight! Happy reading!!!

  3. I’m really curious about Curses. I’ve only seen one review so far and they said it was just average. I hope you enjoy it!
