Tag Tuesday: Top 10 Quotes From My Favorite Books! // some tears might have been shed in the making of this post

I LOVE a good quote. When you can’t wax poetry by yourself, it’s a necessary skill one develops to appreciate poetry waxed by others. So I decided to talk about some of my favorite quotes from some of my favorite books for today’s Top 10 Tuesday topic, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

“Not all stories speak to all listeners, but all listeners can find a story that does, somewhere, sometime. In one form or another.”

“”For a moment he can feel, sharply and strongly, within the air in his lungs, precisely what it is to lose and find and to lose again, over and over and over.”

“Failure doesn’t define you. It’s what you do after you fail that determines whether you’re a leader or a waste of perfectly good air.”

“I want everything with you…I want the holidays and the birthdays, the busy seasons and lazy weekends. I want peanut butter fingerprints on my desk. I want inside jokes and fights and everything. I want a life with you.”

“In those seconds, I was mourning everything I’d lost. How I’d never get to see you walk down the aisle toward me, how I’d never get to see your face in our children, how I’d never get to see streaks of silver in your hair. But, at the same time, I couldn’t be bothered. If me dying meant you living, how could that be anything but good?”

okay so maybe this isn’t a fave but the quotes are *chef’s kiss*

“Mornings like this one were made for memories.”

“The stars moved slowly above her, an array of possibilities, and for the first time in a long time, she felt them mirrored in her heart.”

“Blue was perfectly aware that it was possible to have a friendship that wasn’t all-encompassing, that wasn’t blinding, deafening, maddening, quickening.”

“Jem put the full force of himself into each smile, so that he seemed to be smiling with his eyes, his heart, his whole being.”

“His beauty did not blaze like Will’s did, in fierce colors and repressed fire, but it had its own muted perfection, the loveliness of snow falling against a silver-gray sky.”

I almost put one of my favorite WIll/Jem interactions in but honestly, I hype up Will constantly when Jem deserves it just as much! And yes. I might have shed a tear or two while writing this post and no, it was not the gentle, pearly tears of a YA heroine. Just saying. Anyways, share one of your favorite quotes!

  1. I might or might not have cried reading those Clockwork Prince quotes. Also, what you said about Will and Jem was so true! I still remember how shocked I was when Magnus left Jem’s room in CP2 and then Jem was all, ‘Did you really mean you were in love with Tessa?’ and Will was just as taken aback as we were! I think that last interaction between Will and Jem (when both of them were still human) was one of my favourite scenes (except for that soul-shattering epilogue! Well, this comment has turned into a very long TID Goodreads. Great post!!!
