⛄ Snow Day – What’s your “comfort” book?
I don’t really reread books. But I do have to admit…Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone gives me such warm, nostalgic, happy vibes that it is in fact the closest thing to a comfort read I have. It’s basically Bookish Bob Ross. But only the first one! Because for some reason I get my fix and never continue on rereading! I’m hoping that will change. Eventually.
😇 Snow Angels – What’s a book that you love so much you would want to be buried with it (a little morid, but…)?
That way, if a grave robber ever robbed my grave, he’d (or she’d) see the book, read it, have a life-changing moment, and love everybody, always. Also, I just do genuinely love this book so there’s that.
🧦 Warm Socks – What’s a book that makes you feel warm inside? (The fluffiest, cutest romance you’ve ever read?)
Look, I might not be the best at technically defining “fluffy and cute romance”. But this is a fluffy and cute romance! Just with complications. Like…Nova and Adrian wanting to kill each other but one of them doesn’t know it. But there really are a lot of really adorable, wholesome moments where you honestly forget that this book has other things besides those two being cute.
☕ Hot Cocoa – What winter-themed novels have you previously read?
I actually forgot I even read this but then, when I was searching Winter in the WordPress search bar, lo and behold the perfect answer appeared. I think a lot of books suit the winter mood, but Winterwood really encapsulated snow and cocoa and storms and icy lakes and dead forests and you know normal magical winter things.
🛷 Sledding – What’s a book with the best plot twists? Who’s an author that always keeps you on your toes?
Even rereading this book, I was still shocked by the sheer amount of plot twists. Sabaa Tahir foreshadows things that never even cross my tiny mind. You know it’s bad when you’re still surprised upon reread.
🧥 Ugly Sweaters – What’s a book with the ugliest cover?
This was mostly a year of fantastic covers. But I was so disappointed in the Ballads of Songbirds and Snakes cover?! Like, how do you go from gorgeous special editions (like Catching Fire on the left) to that weird green hypnotic circles mess with golden snakes and birds just sitting there. It’s not the worst, but it’s not great either.
🎥 Movie Marathon – What’s the last book you binge read?
I lowkey listened to this all in one day. I needed to know a lot of things! And after finishing it, I just sorta sat there in shock for a while. Aaaand I’m pretty sure the review is still in my drafts from October. Should probably get that out into the world soon.
🎅 Letter to Santa – What’s a book that’s on your wishlist this year?
I actually did make a post featuring all the books on my wishlist. Speaking of which, when exactly was the last time I did a bookhaul*…?
*sort of a rhetorical question. i never do anything on a regular basis so the answer is essentially “probably not recently”.
So that’s it! I tag anyone who wants to do it!
