Hi friends! I’m SO EXCITED to share this book with you, because I am beyond hyped for it at the moment.
small update: I was just about to write this post when I got the notification that my NetGalley wish has been granted for it! So thank you so much Wednesday Books!

A gorgeously gothic, deeply romantic YA debut fantasy about two enemies trapped inside a crumbling mansion, with no escape from the monsters within.
Wren Southerland is the most talented healer in the Queen’s Guard, but her reckless actions have repeatedly put her on thin ice with her superiors. So when a letter arrives from a reclusive lord, asking Wren to come to his estate to cure his servant from a mysterious disease, she seizes the chance to prove herself.
When she arrives at Colwick Hall, Wren realizes that nothing is what it seems. Particularly when she discovers her patient is actually Hal Cavendish, the sworn enemy of her kingdom. As the snowy mountains make it impossible to leave the estate, Wren and Hal grow closer as they uncover a sinister plot that could destroy everything they hold dear. But choosing love could doom both their kingdoms.

why am i excited for this???
- First of all, Chloe’s review of this book absolutely sold me on it. She mentioned that this has so many elements that are right up my alley including: fantastic characters, a well-thought out world, and atmospheric writing. HELLO????
- Enemies to lovers! AKA my most favorite trope ever (except magical school/competitions). Like oh my word, the potential for an excellent romance is endless.
- Winter atmosphere! I can’t wait to read this in the winter, when I can easily visualize the snow and cold and ahh. Also, am I the only one who’s getting Beauty and the Beast vibes?
- I’ve been on a total Gothic kick lately. All I want to read are darker novels.
That’s it! This totally has the potential to become one of my favorite reads of next year judging from the synopsis alone. Tell me:
Is this on your TBR?

I just finished Phantom of the Opera and loved it. It started a bit slow, but the second half had me on the edge of my seat! I’m also reading Certain Dark Things by Silvia Moreno Garcia about vampires in Mexico City. It’s a pretty dark vampire story and I’m really liking it so far! Do you have any you’ve read and liked recently?!
