Tag Tuesday : Top 5 Unread Books On My TBR This Year!

Hi friends! I’m super excited to talk about how much I’ve failed this year as to the books I wanted to read!! Just kidding. I like to think that I’m simply prolonging reading them so I don’t have too many favorites in one year. That’s definitely what I’m doing. Top Tuesday is hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads!

Serpent and Dove has been on my tbr for basically a year and a half. Like, a witch-hunter unknowingly marrying a witch??? Plus, so many of my blogger friends* have given this rave reviews! 2021 will be the year folks. My enemies-to-lovers heart needs this.

*upon editing, i have discovered i accidentally wrote fries instead of friends. yes, blogger fries.

Probably the biggest joke of this year was me thinking I was going to read this absolute behemoth. BUT LIKE EPIC FANTASY. And Sanderson’s excellent twists. But also it’s 1000 pages. I couldn’t get to it this year and I am very sad, but there’s always time in this series.

I LOVE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. AND FAIRY-TALE RETELLINGS. So tell me, why on the flaming musical earth have I not read this yet??? I’m really just kicking myself in the foot tbh*.

*that’s not the saying but you get the vibe

Modern You’ve Got Mail with grilled cheese and Twitter. I love this idea more than any string of words could ever adequately express, and yet! I haven’t read this yet! Despite being extremely hyped for it back in January!

One of my favorite authors released a book with a gorgeous cover I was insanely excited for and what do I do??? GO INTO A READING SLUMP AND NEVER GET AROUND TO READING IT. Truly, a tragedy.

That’s it! I need to be more proactive about not just mood-reading but actively whittling down my TBR. But that just leaves so many amazing discoveries for next year! Tell me: what’s a book you wanted to read this year but you haven’t yet?

      1. It took me 2 weeks to get through the first 70 pages. The beginning was boring and I had no motivation to pick it up. The plot was predictable( though that did not tamper my enjoyment) After that 70 page mark or so I sped through 350 pages in one day. Then the ending was meh. I don’t think it’s a bad book. I just don’t think it’s worth all the hype it gets.

      1. haha I’ve actually only read the first book, but I HAVE read a couple pages of the second. I think the first one might stay my favourite but I have high hopes for A Heart So Fierce and Broken

  1. Kaya!! I’ve actually read some of these!! I only have Fable on my TBR here, and really it’s on my TBB (to be bought) list!! 😂 (Oh, and I’ve never read a Sanderson, but he’s not on my TBR anyway)
FYI, the three I have read are super cute!! I hope you enjoy them when you can fit them in!! 💕

  2. I LOVED Serpent & Dove, though I was less keen on the sequel. I enjoyed the Way of Kings, even if it’s a loooooong read. It’s always hard to mentally accept I’m going to spend 3 weeks on the same book, even if it’s always worth it.

  3. Eep I hope you get to all of these and enjoy them!! I remember reading A Curse So Dark and Lonely very well…it was late at night, I was hooked to the page, the pace felt so fast. There are so many books I want to read before the year ends, lol, most of them political fantasies 😄
