Tag Tuesday: Top 5 New Authors!!

Hi friends! I’m so excited to begin the November Top 5 Tuesday topics, hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads! And I’m especially excited to talk about some of the wonderful authors I’ve discovered this year!

Roshani Chokshi

After reading both of her released books in the Gilded Wolves trilogy, Roshani Chokshi quickly became one of my favorite authors. Both books have a rich, diverse cast of characters, lush writing, and a complex plot. I can’t wait to go back and read all of her backlist!

Jennifer Donnelly

After reading both of Jennifer Donnelly’s fairy-tale retellings, I can safely say she is one of my new favorite authors! Both Stepsister and Poisoned are so, so creative. I think it’s truly difficult to find a Cinderella or Snow White retelling that can retell the original story with so many incredible twists, with such relative ease.

Holly Jackson

It’s so rare to find a reliable mystery/thriller author in the YA community, but I genuinely think that Holly Jackson has what it takes to become one of the best if not the best. Her debut novel was well-plotted, with countless twists and turns, as well as touching on topics such as racism and prejudice. I can’t wait to read the sequel!

June Hur

After reading Silence of Bones, June Hur became an instant stand-out author in my mind. Her debut novel was so incredibly well-researched, with fantastic characters and an excellent twisty plot. I’m so excited for her upcoming sophomore novel!

Erin A. Craig

While I wasn’t head-over-heels in love with House of Salt and Sorrows, the atmosphere was everything. Like, Shea Ernshaw mixed with Adrienne Young. I adored the retelling aspects too, and the creepy vibes of it all. So I’m really excited for Craig’s next book!

That’s it! What’s one of your new favorite authors???

  2. Jennifer Donnelly is one of my faves as well, especially with her retellings! I haven’t read Poisoned yet, but considering how much I enjoyed Stepsister, I think I’ll love that as much as I did with Stepsister.

Roshani Chokshi is also a good one! I haven’t read all her books yet, but I have Aru Shah on my ebook shelf waiting for me to get around to it.
