Hi friends! I’m so excited to participate in Top 5 Tuesday, hosted by Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads, because I didn’t last week. I haven’t read many books with literal ghosts, so I tweaked the topic slightly in some cases to be “sort of ghosts”.

This entire series is full of ghosts. British ghosts. Sassy ghosts. Sad ghosts. ALL THE GHOSTS. I seriously love all of these books, and how each and every case where the gang* is dealing with a supernatural entity is completely unique.
*why am i making this sound like scooby doo

The first half of this book is creepy. The second half is distinctively less creepy but still dark. This is a 12 Dancing Princesses retelling and the main character sees the ghosts of her sisters.

POOR ELIAS. Um anyways…the third book of the Ember in the Ashes series deals a lot with spirits and ghosts. The ghosts are extremely annoying and sometimes escape and possess poor villagers. Clearly, I’m not a fan.

This deals with Japanese spirits, such as the shinigami (death gods). Literally, this entire novel felt like an anime. And I LOVED IT. There were so many spirits and mythological creatures.

Jane literally sees dead people (i…just realized this was a sixth sense reference what) in this retelling of Jane Eyre. I remember little of it but that’s okay!

Listen, more people ABSOLUTELY need to appreciate the Lockwood and Co series for the gem it is, and I am SO DELIGHTED to see you listed it first for this T5T topic. It’s the right answer. It’s always the right answer. 😂

EXACTLY. No matter the question, as long as it implies it’s good, Lockwood is the answer😂😂
