Hi friends! I’ve come to the decision that, as I start reading more manga, I need to start writing mini-reviews. I can’t write a full length review for ever single volume of manga or else y’all will yeet me to the curb. So I’m going to kickstart these reviews with my thoughts on Yona of the Dawn Volumes 3-4!
Volume 2 does NOT fit the aethestic and it’s bugging me.

A red-haired princess loses her family and her kingdom… Now she must rise and fight for her throne!
Princess Yona lives an ideal life as the only princess of her kingdom. Doted on by her father, the king, and protected by her faithful guard Hak, she cherishes the time spent with the man she loves, Su-won. But everything changes on her 16th birthday when tragedy strikes her family!

Vol. 2 revealed a lot of interesting character developments. We got to see SO MUCH more of the world, and the politics! Su-won is such a fascinating villain, one that I don’t hate but don’t like? AND THERE’S THE PROMISE OF DRAGONS IN THIS. YES, DRAGONS. But I still wasn’t sold on the characters, or where the plot was going, so I gave this 4/5 stars!
Vol. 3 was so good because we were introduced to two new characters who (a) have amazing art styles) and (b) add HILARIOUS banter to the conversation. Basically two excellent reasons to read this series. We got even more history about the world and now we’re starting to travel! Also, some great villainous moments and plot twists here. So 5/5 stars!
Vol. 4 is actually amazing. There’s signs of character growth in ALL of the characters! I also loved the backstory we get for a new character, because it’s so unique and adds more to the story. AND IT ENDED ON A CLIFFHANGER HELP. The artwork took my breath away in this one, there were a few scenes that were so beautifully drawn I could practically see them in color! 5/5 stars!
Again, I adore how the author puts little tidbits into columns on the side! It makes me feel so much more connected to her.
And I think that’s it! I’m not really used to writing mini-reviews, is this too short? Talk to me!

yes for this series! I’m waiting on the 19th book from my library.

I haven’t read anything like manga, graphic novels or comics yet but the length of your reviews seems about right to me; it sums up what you felt and gives people reasons to read the work in question (:
