I Should Have Read That Book Tag! // is anyone really shocked though

Hi friends! I’m back with another (late) tag post, and I was tagged by the lovely bloggers Beck @ Smellfoy Reads and Kay @ Hammock of Books!

1. A book that a certain friend is always telling you to read?

If one person tells me to read A Thousand Perfect Notes or The Boy Who Steals Houses…

me @ myself

2. A book that’s been on your TBR forever and yet you still haven’t picked it up?

Someone tell me why this book’s description is in German on Goodreads. I can’t read German, so I can’t actually tell you what this is about! But I know that it deals with family, and important topics, and it has a gorgeous cover. I…have no excuse for not reading this yet.

3. A book in a series you’ve started, but haven’t gotten round to finishing yet?

Do you mean: the final installment in one of my favorite series of all time that I’ve been following for a solid five years and have had the last book on my shelf for nearly two years? If so, then you are sadly correct that I haven’t read it yet.

4. A classic you’ve always liked the sound of, but never actually read?

Gothic romance with the slight possibility of ghosts. Can a classic steal my heart after all*?

*i say that like i don’t love anne of green gables, a little princess, and to kill a mockingbird. smh.

5. A popular book that everyone but you seems to have read?

I’m just going to leave this here to the sounds of boos and rotten tomatoes splashing on stage. There’s just too much romantic content in here for my tastes.

6. A book that inspired a film/TV adaption that you really love but haven’t read yet?

If you didn’t read my far too gushy, emotional review for this anime, then just know that I’m pretty sure the manga won’t be as good for lack of music but I still want to read. It’s always good to read the sources of inspiration for masterpieces of art*.

*yes i did just call this a masterpiece of art

7: A book that you’ve seen all over Instagram but haven’t picked up yet?

I’ve been seeing this EVERYWHERE. I mean, it sounds like something I’d adore with my whole heart and Seoul* but I haven’t gotten the chance to read it yet!

*oh shush i was in the mood to make ONE bad pun. let me have this moment of complete and utter failure.

So that’s it! That was a super fun tag to do! I’m writing this really quickly before I run out so I’m not tagging anyone in particular but please feel free to do this if you want to!

  1. I’ve heard so much about Wicked Fox! It’s definitely one I’ll get around to reading when the hype goes down a bit 😛 Far From the Tree looks so pretty! It’s a shame the blurb is in German. Cute tag! ❤ Jen

  2. oooooh Far from the Tree gave me the WORST book hangover- you should definitely read it soon! Just make sure you get the actual book (once I went to reread it but I got a nonfiction book on someone’s coming out story… no thank you? not what I wanted…) But the LI is so sweet in that book and it focuses on family and AHHhhhHH I just love it.

  3. This is such a great tag!!! I’ll totally do it as well, this fits perfectly for me haha! I didn’t read Rebecca, but watched the old movie. 2:45 h – wow. It was different than I expected it to be, mainly because it’s from 1935 and the characters were noticeably from that decade (women etc.). So I didn’t really enjoy the movie, but who says the book can’t be good? So please write a review if you do read it someday!
And to take off some pressure, I also haven’t read A court of Thorns and Roses haha! But I also want to haha!
    Great answers! Happy reading!
