Hi friends! I’m so happy to be doing this book tag today, because I seriously need to catch up on the things I’ve been tagged in. Speaking of which, I was tagged by the amazing BW Reviews blog, so please go check them out!!
HOW MANY BOOKS ARE TOO MANY IN A SERIES?
Have you seen the Warrior Cats series?
There’s like 40 books, and my younger self would have cried if there were any less. But now I’d have to say 4, 5 at most. There comes a point where I’ve got to let things go.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT CLIFF-HANGERS?
JUST YASSSSS. Archenemies and The WIcked King have deathly cliffhangers and I am so obsessed. Sometimes, a good cliffhanger is all I need to read the next book.
HARDBACK OR PAPERBACK?
Hardcovers because I like seeing if there’s any special designs on the inside. And sometimes the dust jackets have special pictures on the inside and AGH. JUST GIVE ME MORE HARDCOVERS TO DROOL OVER OKAY.
I think you mean my top 30 most favorite books smh.
But I am going to shout out Clockwork Prince here because why the heck not.
LEAST FAVORITE BOOK?
Hate is a strong word, but not strong enough to describe my feelings for this book. The writing is enough to put even the strongest-willed human to sleep. MY ANGER IS A VOLCANO OF WRATH AND FURY AND HOT HOT LAVA*.
*clearly, i am furious at the mere though of this blemish on earth
LOVE TRIANGLE… YES OR NO?
Unpopular opinion: I actually like love triangles. As long as my ship is endgame, you will find me fluttering about all the angst and feels and fluff that are usually to be found in love triangles.
THE MOST RECENT BOOK YOU COULDN’T FINISH?
This has insanely high ratings on Goodreads for a YA mystery novel but I hated the first 70 pages of this. The characters were awful, I wasn’t invested whatsoever in the plot, and the writing was not my favorite. I didn’t have any more time to waste on this, so into the trash it went*.
*by trash i mean pile to be returned to the library. which by the way we still haven’t gone back to and it’s been a month so…
A BOOK YOU’RE CURRENTLY READING?
I really can’t guilt myself into finishing this monster. It’s a travesty.
THE LAST BOOK YOU RECOMMENDED TO SOMEONE?
I’ve been telling people to at least check this out for a quite a while. I’m sorry.
OLDEST BOOK YOU’VE READ (BASED ON PUBLICATION DATE)?
According to Goodreads, this is it! Published in 1842. Although technically I read The Bible, so doesn’t that count???
NEWEST BOOK YOU’VE READ (BASED ON PUBLICATION DATE)?
This comes out in October! *waves from the future*
Do I have to choose just one?! Okay fine, I absolutely love Marissa Meyer, Sabaa Tahir, and Cassandra Clare especially!
BUYING BOOKS OR BORROWING THEM?
Both! I mean, I wish I had enough money to buy books but I’m more broke than that old treadmill you have sitting in the basement. So borrowing is usually what I end up doing!
A BOOK YOU DISLIKE THAT EVERYONE ELSE LOVES?
Are y’all ready to be mad?
Told you’d some hands would be thrown.
BOOKMARKS OR DOG-EARS?
I’m not utterly horrified by dog-earing* but I much prefer bookmarks! They’re pretty, useful, sometimes excellent reminders, and also they’re good to twirl while I’m reading.
*fun fact: i used to be a dog earer myself
A BOOK YOU CAN REREAD OVER AND OVER?
Everybody and their uncle’s dog knew that this was coming.
CAN YOU READ WHILE LISTENING TO MUSIC?
Not really. First I start singing, then the words start blurring, and next thing you know I’m doing ritual circles around the book doing the chicken dance. It escalates very quickly.
MULTIPLE POVS OR ONE POV?
It depends? Books like Six of Crows NEED multiple POVs to work but I mostly prefer single POVs. Mainly because I can’t keep track of who’s doing what when.
DO YOU READ A BOOK IN ONE SITTING OR OVER MULTIPLE DAYS ON AVERAGE?
Multiple days for sure! I’ve said this before but I will say it again: I have no attention span. An hour of reading is the most I can go tbh.
So that’s it! I tag anyone who wants to do this, it was super fun!
