Hi friends! I’m here to outline my goals for NaNoWriMo! For those who don’t know, November is Nation Novel Writing Month. The website encourages you, along with thousands of other people, to write 50k words in one month! It’s a lot…and I can already smell my failure from a mile away.
SO here are my altered goals!
I want to reach 25k, and actually come up with a decent storyline!
Funnily enough, I’ve actually written this 25k word Sherlock fanfiction based off of the BBC series, following Rosie Watson and Jim Moriarty’s secret son Will but it got really convoluted and I don’t want to die saying that’s the best I’ve ever written.
But also! I’m literally only writing this novel because I like writing??? I don’t really want to get published which is probably a first in the writing world LOL. Anyway, here’s a very official synopsis:
Ahem. So. Basically, a girl named America (oh shush yes I remember the Selection and I’d already come up with the name before reading it), after watching her parents get murdered by this THING, her world is turned upside-down. Literally. Meanwhile, Liam is a creature that not even the creature creatures like because no one knows where he came from. But also there’s no one else like him. AND there’s this huge hallway filled with doors to other worlds but each world is slowly collapsing in on itself.
And that’s all I can tell you. Even though I’m sure you’re like “this makes no sense Kaya and sounds like the most predictable, cliche YA fantasy ever.” To which I’d respond, “OH YEAH??? THEN WHAT’S THAT BEHIND YOU???” and proceed to stab them. With a cookie dough roll because we only promote love and happiness here!!!
anyway.
That’s all I have today! And for all of you participating in NaNoWriMo, don’t give up! You’ve got this!!! And every word doesn’t have to be perfect, that’s what editing is for.
OMG I’d love to read that story of yours!!!!

Okay, I LOVE the sound of that hallway and you’ve got me super curious!! It doesn’t seem predictable or cliched, but even if it is, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with cliches. (So please don’t stab me XD) Happy writing! ❤

Kaya. That is the MOST CONFUSING SUMMARY EVERY. (So, when can I read it?)
Also, it was only when I sat down and was like, meh, I don’t want to be published, I just want to write because I love writing, that I actually finished a book. I think doing it to fuel your passion is the best incentive. *Trick your brain* and then when the book is done, be like, SURPRISE IT’S PUBLISHING TIME and start editing. 😉
Good luck with NaNo!!! You got this.

LOL I KNOW. Two A.M. summary writing is surprisingly not advisable???
Oh! That’s really good advice, thank you!!

Or summary writing when you’re trying to be mysterious about the plot to keep certain elements a secret 😉😉
