Hi friends! I’m back with, once again, another review. My last Mortal Instruments one. Let us take a moment to appreciate the bitter-sweetness of this moment…
Oh yeah and SPOILER ALERT for all previous Shadowhunter books.
Shadowhunters and demons square off for the final showdown in the spellbinding, seductive conclusion to the #1 New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series.
Darkness has descended on the Shadowhunter world. Chaos and destruction overwhelm the Nephilim as Clary, Jace, Simon, and their friends band together to fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary’s own brother. Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. Bearing the Infernal Cup, he transforms Shadowhunters into creatures of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks of his Endarkened army swell. Nothing in this world can defeat Sebastian—but if they journey to the realm of demons, they just might have a chance…
Lives will be lost, love sacrificed, and the whole world will change. Who will survive the explosive sixth and final installment of the Mortal Instruments series?
I have too many thoughts right now. Okay well first of all, sassy Jace Herondale-Lightwood-Wayland-Morgenstern*. In the first series, I thought he was okay. City of Fallen Angels made me somewhat dislike him (granted, CoFA made me dislike everything) but City of Lost Souls and this book actually made me like Jace. Not just like him but love him. I was so happy with his character development and his choices!
Oh yeah and I miss Will Herondale.
Man, when I thought about myself as a bookworm I really didn’t imagine that I would be sitting crying on a park bench trying to throw meat pie at ducks and singing Concerto (how that’s possible idk).
I felt like the first half, while good, dragged quite a bit compared to the second half. BUT THE ENDING WAS SO EPIC. And painful. And beautiful. And I adore all the TID references like honestly.
One last thing: I had no clue about the TDA stuff in here but can I just say I’d already die for Julian? I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. And the others of course!
Have you read this book? Do you want to? Tell me! Catch ya later, au revoir!
