Tag Tuesday: Top 5 Books I’ve Read Because of The Bookish Community!

Hi friends! It’s Top 5 Tuesday, which is hosted by the awesome Shanah @ Bionic Bookworm! I’m super excited for this topic, so let’s do this:

Scythe

Yes, yes I always talk about that this book but IT’S AMAZING! I mean, I thought the premise was cool and all but I don’t listen to the hype right away (sometimes) so I wasn’t going to pick it up but then everyone started talking about it and I was like FINE and yeah now I’m here with a cloak and a ring.

My Lady Jane

I HAD NO CLUE WHAT THIS WAS ABOUT. All I knew was that I’d seen it wafting (?) lazily around the book community, and it was the first book I recognized on Overdrive. So I picked it up on audio and guys again I had no clue what I was getting into. MLJ was funny and unique and something I’d never have read on my own!

The Shadowhunter Chronicles

I’M FREAKING OUT JUST THINKING WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED IF I NEVER PICKED THESE BOOKS UP AHHH!!! I’m in the middle of Clockwork Prince (at least when I’m writing this post) and it’s just so beautiful. I had no desire to pick up City of Bones until I saw how popular these books really were. I figured, “What’s the harm?” Last words guys. Last words.

Strange The Dreamer

I kept hearing about Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone series (which I still haven’t read go figure) but I saw her newest book in the library. And oh my stars. Her writing is so enchanting and her characters so complex I fell in love!

The Darkest Minds

I just started getting involved in the bookish community last year, so I’m really, really, REALLY LATE TO LIFE. And consequently, totally over the whole “HungerGamesIMeanDivergentIMeanTheMazeRunner” dystopian craze but I kept hearing stuff about this one. An upcoming movie and interviews with the awesome author were the final pushes I needed to scoop up up the book and thank goodness for y’all.

Haha, I was about go in for another book before realizing that I’d already hit five! I really do read a ton of books because of the bookish community so KEEP THOSE RECS COMING (oh, be quiet TBR if I add books to you at least I’ll be paying attention for once)

This was a super fun Top 5 Tuesday! Thank you for reading, and tell me some books you’ve read and enjoyed because of blogs/booktube. Au revoir!

  4. Oh my gosh! I love all of these book so much. I picked Scythe up on a whim but I definitely read My Lady Jane because of Bookstagram. The others I’d already read by the time it came along, aside from Strange the Dreamer- but that was a given for me to read because I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone. :p

      1. It’s probably because My Plain Jane just came out so everyone is excited about those books again! Ahhh definitely read it! It’s heavy on information just like Strange the Dreamer but it’s just beautiful!

      1. I really like it so far. I’ve just been in a reading slump because of the other book and now I’m just not wanting to read and it sucks.
