Hi friends! I wanted to give a quick wrap-up of what I read during the Biannual Bibliothon and how it compared to my TBR (spoiler alert: I failed spectacularly). So let’s do this!
Challenge One: Read The Group Book
Well, according to my TBR, I wasn’t going to read this book but then I remembered that e-books are a thing. And WHAT A THING IT IS. The average Goodreads rating isn’t great and I saw a ton of negative reviews so I had resigned myself to never reading it. But, whenI randomly decided to read it, I found that I absolutely LOVED IT. Sure, it had some issues but it was also super good!!
Challenge Two: Read A Book On Someone Else’s TBR
Originally, I was going to read Truthwitch. But due to, ahem, extreme circumstances (I watched TV) that didn’t exactly happen. I did read The Wicked Deep though which almost everyone else read so that counts, right?
Challenge Three: Read Three Chapters of a Book and Pick One
I chose Thunderhead for this challenge! Until it was time to read it…I reasoned that Thunderhead would take me too long to read because and I quote from my head, “It requires too much thinking”. WHAT??? Anyway, I ended up reading Clockwork Prince which was a horrible idea because (a) I’m not done with it and (b) that’s because every single paragraph I stop to laugh or cry. I made it about halfway through it though!
Challenge Four: Pick A Predicted 5 Star Read
This was also my predicted 5 star read and so far I’m wrong. It’s shaping up to be, mmm, about 100 stars. Not too shabby, Cassandra Clare.
Challenge Five: Read A Book That’s Been On Your TBR For Over A Year
Sure, I’ve already read this book a lot of times but it’s been on my reread list for over a year now. It has a medal and we don’t argue with medals SO THERE. At least it was on my TBR. Speaking of which, I never wrote a review *checks to mae sure the dreaded RTC on Goodreads hasn’t magically changed overnight*
Challenge Six: Read An #OwnVoices Novel
At first, I didn’t realize this was OwnVoices and I thought it was just read a book about someone different from you. My original plan was Scarlet but I’m happy to say I received an ARC from Edelweiss and this book has verified representation of schizophrenia! My review should be up tomorrow, so keep an eye out for that!
Challenge Seven: Read The Last Book You Bought
I read 3 and a half books, completed five out of seven challenges, and did a couple of Instagram ones as well! This was a crazy fun first readathon, and I can’t wait to participate in more in the future! See ya later, au revoir!
