Hi friends! Recently, I was trying to figure out a good blog post to do when it hit me: I haven’t ranted about my unpopular opinions! And what better way to do this than one of my absolute favorite tags: The Unpopular Opinion Book Tag! So let’s get on with these questions:
A Popular Book Or Series You Didn’t Like
There are honestly SO MANY I could choose for this but I’m gonna have to go with Graceling. You can read an actual rant here but for now let’s just say this wasn’t what I expected. Or wanted.
A Popular Book Or Series That Everyone Else Seems To Hate But You Love
Unpopular opinion time! I really love The Selection series by Keira Cass (or at least the first three books). Yes, it’s dramatic but it’s also addictive, entertaining, and Maxon is soooo swoonworthy.
A Love Triangle Where The Main Character Ends Up With Someone You Didn’t Want or An OTP You Don’t Like
I mean, if I’m going to make some enemies I might as well go all out right? I’m going to answer both of these questions. SPOILERS FOR HARRY POTTER (guys you need to get on that). Anyway, I really don’t like the fact that Ron and Hermione ended up together! Even though it’s not really a love triangle, Harry and Hermione are LIFE. Also I really despise the Chaol and Celaena ship *hides* I’m sorry!!
A Popular Book Genre You Hardly Reach For
Historical! Unless it’s a genre mashup, I won’t ever reach for a historical fiction book.
A Popular Or Beloved Book Character You Don’t Like
I don’t like Four or Peeta. And literally the only reason I didn’t put gifs here was because I slowly felt my opinion being destroyed by the actors LOL. Peeta is just so bland a character to me, and honestly Insurgent/Allegiant completely destroyed Four’s for me. TAKE THAT BREAD BOY AND NUMBER-HEAD (why do I write blog posts in the middle of the night…)
A Popular Author You Just Can’t Seem To Get Into
For me, I really can’t get into Nathaniel Hawthorne. Obviously, he’s considered a great writer if schools always put him as required reading but I can barely read him. I mean, the man somehow managed to make Greek mythology boring! Who the mint chocolate chip does that?!?!
A Popular Book Trope That You Hate
I hate “strong” female protagonists, by which I mean the ones who never cry and don’t want to get married and are unnaturally talented at everything. I want real leading ladies, like Inej or Cinder or Tessa.
A Popular Series That You Have No Interest In Reading
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas! I don’t feel comfortable reading the kind of content in it, even if the series sounds right up my alley. Maybe in the future but not right now (sorry, guys!).
The Saying Goes “The Book Is Always Better Than The Movie”, But What Movie Or TV Show Adaptation Do You Prefer More Than The Book?
Percy Jackson!
Just kidding, who would ever pick those things we do not speak of? I’m actually going to have to go with Wonder because even though I haven’t read the book yet, I love the movie!
So that’s it for the tag. Comment below what your unpopular opinions are! See ya, au revoir!
I totally agree about the Percy Jackson movie being terrible. I feel bad every time I think about it, haha. Great post!

I agree. I kept hearing how Graceling is just the greatest book ever. It’s not.

I’m glad I’m not the only one!! I agree, it’s rather overhyped.

It was like, “Okay, we get it. You don’t want to get married.”

IKR she’s so whiny about it! I also found the entire plot to be predictable haha
