Hi friends! Firstly, I want to apologize because of how late this post is but I really wanted to finish a couple of books before I made this post! As a random side note, I literally died while trying to make a top 5 list so yeah that’s why it’s six. I don’t know if I’ll survive the end of the year but anyway, these aren’t in any particular order so enjoy!
Sky In The Deep by Adrienne Young
“We’re tired of you talking about this book!” I know and I’m tired of myself talking about it too but IT’S SO GOOD. Three reasons: enemies to lovers trope, an awesome female protagonist who’s genuine and real, and some of the most naturally atmospheric writing ever. Go read it.
Legendary by Stephanie Garber
After Caraval being one of my favorite reads of 2017, I had high hopes for the sequel. SPOILER ALERT: IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. There was so much more to this story, and the writing was so enchanting, how could I not love it?
The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson
I’m still shook. This trilogy is insane to the point where I’m not sure if the man is mad or just plain genius. Either way, this is my favorite of the three and it’s so. Flipping. Good.
A Reaper At The Gates by Sabaa Tahir
Death, destruction, heartbreak, betrayal, and a shimmer of hope. Yeah, Sabaa reallyyyy loves her characters. Seriously though, this hurt like heck but still. It’s absolutely amazing!
Warcross by Marie Lu
I sped through this in like two days because it was so dang addictive! The plot moved at a break-neck speed while still leaving room for character development and spectacular world-building. MUST HAVE WILDCARD. NOW.
City of Glass/Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare
I keep going back and forth on this but due to my self-imposed rule of NO MORE THAN ONE BOOK PER SERIES I’m putting these two together. I love the Shadowhunter books so much!!!
That’s it, friends! I’ve read some other amazing books but I really didn’t want to stretch the list longer than I had to. And this is just the first half of the year! What is one of your top reads so far this year? See ya, au revoir!
