July 2018 TBR

Hi friends! Today, we’re going to play the game “Kaya picks a TBR and fails so miserably that whoever invented it is writhing in their graves.” I don’t even know if I’ll read half the books on here (these books are all literal tomes) but choices are good, right? Also, please ignore the header image, as I didn’t include all the books in this list there because I changed my mind already but that’s okay.

The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson

I’ve already started this one and am so scared for what’s going to happen. I’ve heard some insane things about the ending so hopefully I don’t die? Also it’s super long so wish me luck!

Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

I’M SO BEHIND. This is my first time reading the Shadowhunter Chronicles so I’m always terrified of spoilers *cough Lord of Shadows and Clockwork Princess cough cough*.

Scarlet by Marissa Meyer

I desperately want to reread this series! Back in June I reread Cinder which just hyped me up even more to continue. AGH THORNE!

Thunderhead by Neal Shusterman

I really need to read the sequel to Scythe, which was amaaaazingggg. Funny story: I saw this at a book fair and picked it up but right before check out, I got the strangest urge to switch copies so that’s what I did. And guess what? In the car, I discovered that my new copy was signed! So now I have to read it.

Warcross by Marie Lu

Um…I’m kinda behind on the hype train for this. Like, to the point where everyone’s fighting over ARCs of Wildcard and I’m just skipping through the meadow screeching about rainbow-dyed hair. I’m pretty sure it’s time to fix this!

The Empty Grave by Jonathan Stroud

Well, here we are. This is the final book in the Lockwood and Co series, which is one of my all-time faves. I’ve been putting off reading the final book because I mean, really, who ever wants to say goodbye? But I must know what happens, especially considering I’ve heard rumors…of death…so this just great.

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare

If I finish Clockwork Prince and am still not tired of being in this world with these characters…

A Random Classic by Either Mr. Boring Hawthorne or An Actual Good Writer

If you have no clue what I’m talking about, basically I’m just picking up a classic. To get a jump-start on school. So it will be either The Scarlet Letter (shudder) or something else.

So that’s it for today, guys! I’ve got a pretty ambitious TBR, these books are absolute monsters. Hopefully I fly through them though!

Comment below what books you’re most excited to read this month! That’s all for today, au revoir!

  1. The Empty Grave was super nerve-wracking to read. I picked up the series a few months before it was released so I kind of got the full brunt of the hype-train there (complete with all the death-speculations). I feel like it’s the kind of conclusion that’s really high-stakes, and I really hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

    1. Thank you!! I’m happy you enjoyed it!! I read the series a few months before the third came out so I’ve had this one for forever but just can’t quite get up the courage to read it. But I think you’ve given me the extra pushed I needed!
